Boakye-Yam Boadi is an Accounting professional and currently a Ph. D. student in Personal
Financial Planning at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, USA. He is a Teaching Assistant and
the International Team lead of the student group Red to Black (Red to Black is Peer Financial
Coaching, which answers students’ money questions through individual sessions and group
presentations).
He is also a member of the student group KEY (Knowledge Empowering You),
a group that educates the Lubbock Community on issues relating to Cash, Credit, Coverage,
Career, College, and Insurance.
He is the former Chief Operations Officer of Principal Capital Microfinance Limited. Other
positions he has held include Finance Manager at Catamount Microfinance Ltd., Audit Team
Leader at PKF (Formally Pannell Kerr Forster), and Accounts Officer at Intermove Group of
Companies. He has also consulted in Auditing, Accounting, and Taxation related issues for
several companies, which include Oasis Capital Ghana Limited, Vokacom, Vasmol Limited,
Two Dot O Limited, Histolab Diagnostic Centre, Ace Consult, A. A. Quick Clean.
Boakye-Yam holds an MBA (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA),
Accounting option from the University of Ghana. He is a student of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants Ghana (ICA, Part 3). He also obtained special skills in Financial Modeling in
Microsoft Excel from Benchmark Financial & Management Training Centre – Ghana, and
Advanced Business and Financial Reporting Using Excel also from Meirc Training &
Consulting, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Boakye-Yam interest includes Taxation, Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing,
Retirement Planning, Financial Literacy, Charitable Giving, Investments, Household Saving
and Consumption Decisions toward retirement, College Education, Homeownership, Financial
Behavior Change, and the Financial Planner/Client interaction theory and practice.
